Box Butte Development Corporation (BBDC) has teamed up with Nebraska Workforce Development and Applied Information Management (AIM) Institute representing Careerlink.com, to maximize the resources available to employers to recruit and hire quality employees. Nebraska Workforce Development has had job listings for over 50 years. Anyone in the area knows to look on the workforce website or go into the office to find area jobs that are available. Nebraska Workforce Development is an anchor of the community for both employers and job seekers.
Careerlink.com is a new resource that can now be used to post job listings. John Olafson, Executive Director of BBDC states that “This is another resource for employers to recruit and hire employees.” The job listings will still be posted on Nebraska Workforce, but can also be listed on Careerlink. Employers will call BBDC for more information about training. Employers will also be able to search the resumes posted on Careerlink to see if one of the applicants fits their needs. They can then contact the applicant and recruit them.
There will be media ads forthcoming from Careerlink. They will market in the area as well as outside of Nebraska. Careerlink's recruitment is designed to “bring people to or back to Nebraska” according to Tim Erickson of the AIM Institute.
Dual listings with Nebraska Workforce Development and Careerlink.com will help employers maximize their exposure to job seekers. BBDC is pleased to incorporate these two resources into our Workforce Marketing Program, or Relocation Program. Within the program, is the BBDC relocation package, where our staff will help a person find rentals, get utilities hooked up, and get children enrolled in school, in addition to other activities necessary when one relocates. BBDC also offers a tour of the community and will be having a social for new residents during Heritage Days.
